The sun blind has a bore in its upper edge containing a tube (2). The tube is fixed in the bore by adhesive to form a single unit. A pivot rod (3) passes through the tube. A projection or cam (4) inside the tube engages with an annular groove (6) near the end of the pivot rod to prevent an axial movement. A channel or flattened section runs from the end of the pivot rod as far as the annular groove to permit the cam to engage. The connecting channel and projection are in such a position that lies outside of the normal pivoting angle. The pivot rod is angled at its free end (3) to form a pivot pin so that the entire sun blind can be swung to one side.
