PARALLEL ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER A high-speed analog-to-digital converter includes a plurality of parallel-connected comparators, AND gates, and emitter followers which produce a coded output, for example, binary or Gray code, in accordance with preselected different discrete analog signal levels. Each comparator exhibits a non-linear transfer characteristic so that the voltage gain is boosted for differential inputs near zero volts. A predetermined hysteresis may be introduced in the transfer characteristic to reduce comparator response to low level oscillation and noise. |
