<p>Compensator for joining tubing, using strengthened rubber, consisting of a convex widening tube with end fastening flanges, the flanges joining steel crd layers, arranged crosswise, coated and embedded in rubber. The tube consists of ethylene propylene terpolymer rubber (EPDM). The double adhesive layer on the Zn coated steel cord comprises an inner layer of natural rubber (NK) and bromobutyl rubber, and an outer layer of NK-bromo butyl rubber and EPDM or bromobutyl rubber (BBK) and EPDM. The compensators are used to prevent sound transmission in tubing, to facilitate length equalisation arising from temp. effects and to equalise axial displacements in tubing. The use of EPDM leads to exceedingly advantageous effects relative to the resistance against hot water of various kinds. Dynamic loads at different temperatures are well tolerated. A compensator with flanges for joining tubing consists of a widening ethylene propylene terpolymer (EPDM) outer cover, and embedded Zn coated steel cord layers arranged crosswise, and coated first with a natural rubber (NK) and bromobutyl rubber (BBK) compsn., and then with an outer layer of NK-BBK and EPDM OR BBK and EPDM. It is used for e.g. tube length equalisation.</p> |
