<p>An adjustable stop (23) is set under the accelerator pedal (12) so that the driver can feel when the pedal has been depressed to the set position. The position of the stop is regulated by a remote control servo (17) with a hand control (32) on the dashboard, so that the driver can set the required speed without losing driving concentration. The system is easily retrofitted to any vehicle and replaces complex and costly speed controls. No servo connections are required between the control and the transmission. The servo linkage is either hydraulic or by a Bowden cable. Suitable damping is provided by springs so that the driver can override the setting if required.</p> |
