The slatted venetian blind incorporates paired carrier bars running parallel, and slat loops between bars in each pair to take up loosely inserted slats, with an arched cross-sectional outline. At least one end of each slat loop is connected with one carrier bar in each pair. A second end (4, 4a) of the slat loop (3, 3a) is held in contact with the other carrier bar by an additional shorter hinging element (5, 5a). Each slat loop may be mounted inside a relatively longer hinging loop, with each end attached to one of the two carrier bars. The shorter hinging element may be a thread, connected firstly to the front carrier bar in each pair, and secondly to the slat loop at its bight, or it may be a rigid metal, plastic or other unit, connecting the front slat loop to the front carrier bar at the bight.
