The interlocking roof tile, pref. made of ceramic materials, has base and cover folded sections, and a head folded section permitting a relatively extensive lengthways displacement. Provision for such movement in rows across the rafters simplifies laying, which can then be carried out by building craftsmen other than roof specialists, and also makes it easier to renovate the roofs of old buildings, or to effect repairs after a storm. The cover folding section is cylindrical in shape and it extends uniterruptedly, with no corner cutouts, from the base to the head of the tile. The head folded section may incorporate an outside head fold rib, crossing over into the outside fold rib at the same level. The head fold groove is pref. of the same depth as the side fold groove.
|
