Diesel fuel emulsification prevention system - has heater incorporated in tank near supply pipe intake

System prevents diesel fuel in the tanks of motor vehicles forming into jelly in cold weather, and/or also warms up the fuel before injection. The fuel is heated in the tank (1), at least near the intake (4) of the fuel supply pipe (3). It can be simultaneously heated in the pipe also, typically by an electric current, and a heater can be mounted inside the tank near the pipe intake, and also running along the pipe. The filter cage (5) round the intake can be partly of metal at least, also acting as an electrical heater element, the gauze being coated with a film of anti-corrosion material.
