One of the components has a distorting tooth passing through the item to secure the other one in place. A lower station supports the first component, and an upper one the second one above it. Plungers thrust the components towards each other, and they are fed in succession along guides to the stations from storage hoppers. The second components are delivered to a point in the guide clear of the upper station, and a thrust rod works in the guide in conjunction with the plungers to deliver a component to the upper station after the plungers have performed their operation. An indicator has portions on the thrust rod moving with it, and when the rod is moved it assumes a vertical position in line with the upper and lower stations. |
