1425074 Sodium sulphate agglomeration PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 7 Dec 1973 [8 Dec 1972] 56784/73 Heading C1A In the production of abrasion-resistant agglomerates of particulate sodium sulphate, finely-divided particulate sodium sulphate is contacted with sodium silicate binding agent in the presence of water, and the resultant particulate mass is then agitated in a tumbling bed to contact sodium sulphate, particles having adhering sodium silicate binding agent with each other, thereby forming agglomerates of said particles. In a preferred embodiment, the particulate sodium sulphate is contacted with the sodium silicate binding agent by forming finely-divided particulate sodium sulphate into a falling curtain and spraying on to the particles in the curtain a sodium silicate solution in a finely divided form.
|
