<p>The equipment is for handling loads which must be protected from distortion, particularly thin-walled spherical sections, using a closed pressure support ring for the load, to which a network of pull and thrust rods are attached. Inside the ring (3) are a large number of pull rods or ropes (4, 7) attached to it at their ends by tensioning devices. They are firmly secured together where they intersect. Turnbuckles can be provided between the intersection points and the ring, and the points can be secured by clamps. The pull rods or ropes can form a series of squares round the ring periphery.</p> |
