1525168 Electrode sets TUDOR AB 6 Dec 1976 [9 Dec 1975] 50731/76 Heading H1B Electrodes are joined by a connector bar to form electrode sets wherein the electrodes carry out a plurality of backward and forward movements around a vertically situated closed circular track, electrodes of the same kind being connected by a connector bar at a work station positioned on the track. The electrodes repeat alternately clockwise and anti-clockwise movements, all movements in the clockwise direction being of the same magnitude, and all movements in the anti-clockwise being of the same magnitude, but of different magnitude from those in the clockwise direction. The required sequence of operations may be undertaken on apparatus comprising a cylinder defined by two rings 11, 12 containing on its periphery cassettes 13, 14, 15 (Fig. 3) to receive electrodes; the cylinder rotates about its horizontal axis on rollers 16, 17. The electrodes are transported around a vertically circular path around which are located a feeding or charging station 22, a casting station 23 and a flux treatment station 24. After treatment the plates pass to the uppermost position whereupon they drop into or are pressed into battery containers conveyed and track running through the centre of the cylinder. |
