The nut is provided with one or more internal threads, the flanks of which are exposed axially of the nut. Both nut and socket portion may be made of a polyamide, the former being reinforced with glass fibres to make it harder. The thread of the nut may be triangular in cross-section and the nut may be provided with inclined portions 13 for facilitating screwing of the nut onto the ribs of the socket portion.
