1,175,675. Latches. B. BULLOCK. 25 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966; 20 April, 1966; 29 April, 1966], Nos. 4347/66; 17209/66 and 18979/66. Heading E2A. A buckle comprises a member 21 with a recess 33 which receives one end of a pivoting latch 34 to which is attached an operating finger piece 43 which projects through an aperture in a cover. The finger piece of the latch is urged upwardly by a pair of spring arms 56 to retain edges thereon in engagement with inwardly directed edges on a tongue 11. A further pair of spring arms 59 engages end surfaces of the tongue and ejects the tongue when it is released from the latch. The spring arms are integral with a channel section part 55 which engages a portion 54 of a retainer plate supported in the member 21 and having a central projection 51 limiting the upward movement of the latch. In modifications, the tongue has two apertures at one end or is T-shaped and the latch is provided with surfaces to engage surfaces of the apertures or T head. |
