The stabiliser is for a trailer and acts against the snaking effect. It consists of a cable (A) of diameter to suit the trailer weight and with a buckle (B) at each end. At the centre of the cable is a double ring (F) to which a return device is fitted. The return device (D) consists of a flexible element of rubber on a tension spring and there are two pulleys (C) fixed to the trailer. Each consists of a roller held between fibre (or similar) washers. The play of the rollers is controlled by an assembly of Belleville (RTM) washers. There is a tension system (G) for attaching to the tractor and so operating the return device (D).
