<p>A fibre carding machine includes a series of worker roll positioned around a main card roll so tha they co-operate with the main card roll to separate out the fibres of a fibre lap passing over the main card roll. The work rolls have axles with pulleys or gears around which a main drive belt passes, the main drive belt also passes around a driven gear or pulley so that it rottes the worker rolls. An auxiliary belt which is not driven also passes around auxiliary pulleys or gears attached to the worker rolls. The auxiliary belt ensures that all of the worker rolls are driven by the main drive belt at constant speed.</p> |
