<p>The collapsible container has a frame with parallel compartments, open at one side, between opposite sides of the frame. The sides of the compartments adjacent to those of the frame hinge on the latter, so that they can be turned through 90 deg. The frame comprises two parallel sections (2, 3) with a lengthwise connecting surface, and hinges (6, 7) joining the sidewalls (5) of the compartments (4) with the sides of the frame and mounted diagonally on each side-wall. Thus one hinge (6) is connected to one part (2) of the frame (1), and the other to the other part (3), joining the components together so that they can be positively moved parallel to each other. The compartments are turned through 90 deg. in the process, and other means are provided for covering their open sides. The parts (2,3) can be locked in place when the container is folded.</p> |
