The die for cold forging of nuts consists of a cylindrical fitting (1) with a tapered bore (15) at one end. The parts (2, 24) of the die most subject to wear fit in the tapered bore (15). The upper part (2) has an internal shape to match the outside form of the nut and rests on the second part (24) which has a plain cylindrical bore (26). These two upper parts are supported by a cylindrical anvil (3) which is held in place by a threaded ring (4) which screws into the base of the fitting. When the upper parts (2) and (24) become worn after prolonged use, they can easily be replaced at less cost than that of replacing the whole block.
|
