Slide over seal for butting pipe ends - has metal sleeve with elastomer cover folded into sleeve bore to leave sealing rims

The slide-over seal is used to place over abutting pipe ends which are not coupled together with a sleeve. The seal consists of a metal sleeve (1) with a central inwardly protruding ridge (3). The pipe ends are pushed against this ridge. The metal sleeve is covered by an elastomer sleeve (8). This sleeve is longer than the metal sleeve and has two external rims (10). When the ends of the elastomer sleeve are folded into the bore of the metal sleeve, the rims will be protruding inward. The rims will seal between the bore of the sleeve and the outside of the pipe ends.
