The writing implement has a tubular top and a cylindrical body containing a falling weight and a cleaning wire of of connected type. A tubular equalising chamber in the outer wall of the cylindrical body is connected by a radial hole to the inner body chamber. It is constructed so that the inner wall of the sheath (7) has a projection (10) which projects into the drawing ink equalising chamber (9). This sheath (7) lies behind the radial bore (6) when the sheath (7) is fully withdrawn.
