Stitches of teh new row are linked to the preceding row. The stitches are laid on a guide bed and hign in the requried length. The yarn is passed vertically through the stitch to form a losse loop. The hung stitch is released by sliding the holder in teh guide bed. The loose newly-formed stitch is caught and hung according to the required stitch length. Process reduces the five stages of conventional knitting to two including passing the new stitch through the old and releasing the old stitch while securing the new stitch. Replacement of the needles by a cylindrical holder allows a wide variety of stitch sizes to be executed without the complexity of controlling needle movements.
