Steering system for endless tracked vehicles - has neutral shaft with hydrodynamic brakes whose rotors turn proportional to engine speed

The neutral shaft (14) is provided with hydro dynamic brakes (29) to effect the vehicles steering. The rotors turn with equal speed and in proportion to engine revolution speed. The brakes are filled by a left and right hand regulator valve actuated by the steering lever and pull wires. - The brake rotor revolution speed is measured by a metering pump turned by the brake rotor to produce a pressure analogous to rotor speed and the regulator valve piston surface. The regulator valves are well as the brake rotor metering pumps are provided with working fluid at a continuous high pressure by a filler pump driven by the drive shaft from gear box to neutral shaft bevel drive.
