1482421 Packaging apparatus INDUSTRIE - WERK SPACE KARLSRUHE AUGSBURG AG 4 Nov 1974 [9 Nov 1973] 47591/74 Heading B8C In apparatus 1 for the aseptic packaging of pharmaceutical products having a liquid to pasty consistency, opposed webs 7, 8 of thermoplastics or metal foil are intermittently drawn between reciprocable tool halves 12, 13, 14 which respectively mould the webs, seal them together to form enclosures 16, and finally seal the enclosures when these have been simultaneously filled through needles 15, the entire operation being performed in a tank 3 which is initially flooded with disinfectant to sterilize the tools. Before the packaging commences, tank 3 is drained and filled with sterile air at excess pressure. The webs 7, 8 are previously sterilized before entering the apparatus. Tools 12, 13, 14 are adjustable to provide packages of different sizes.
