Unsaturated monomers are polymerized in presence of a compound of formula <FORM:1107956/C3/1> wherein R is C1- 9 alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl. In Example 7, vinyl cloride is polymerized with the above compound (R = tert-butyl or tert-amyl), in aq. medium and in presence of a polyvinyl alcohol. Other specified monomers are vinylidene chloride, vinyl bromide, acrylamide, N-substituted methacrylamides, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, allyl acetate, diethylene glycol-bis (allyl carbonate) and ethylene.ALSO:Compounds used as driers for linseed, tung and soybean oils have the formula <FORM:1107956/C4-C5/1> wherein R is C1- 9 alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1107956/C2/1> wherein R is C1- 9 alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl, and a process for making them by reacting the corresponding 4-R-cyclohexyl haloformate with an aq. alkaline H2O2 solution. In exemplified compounds, R is Me2CH, Me3C, tert.-amyl, cyclohexyl or cyclohexyl-isopropyl.ALSO:Substituted dicyclohexyl peroxy-dicarbonates used as oxidizing agents in bleaching flour have the formula:- <FORM:1107956/A1-A3/1> where R is C1-9 alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl. |
