<p>Punching apparatus for punching binder holes through the edge of a large count book of paper in a single punching operation. The apparatus includes a splitter for separating one edge of the book into several discrete lifts which are inserted between a plurality of stacked die plates having aligned die openings formed therethrough. Clamping apparatus clamps the lifts between the die plates and punching mechanism drives a series of punches through the aligned die openings in the die plates and through edges of the sheets clamped between the die plates.</p> |
