The equipment is for the storage of liquefied gas at roughly atmospheric temperature and low pressure. It comprises one or more heat-insulated storage chambers with rigid walls, typically of concrete. Each chamber contains a number of tanks spaced apart. The tanks can be vertical, and rigidly connected together by angle-steel members. They can be combined into one or more groups, preferably extending over the whole width of the chamber. The groups of tanks can be arranged to support the roof at one or more points. They can be surrounded inside the chamber by an atmosphere of inert gas. Location of the tanks is pref. along the sea coast or riverbank, permitting tankers to moor alongside.
