A method of charging an electro-photographic sheet comprises applying a uniform charge with one corona discharge, then a half-tone pattern of charge by means of a second corona discharge through a mesh screen. A corona electrode 3 charges a sheet 2 on a conductive support 1 through a mesh screen 4 which unrolls from a roll 5 as the charging member moves across the sheet. A second corona electrode 7 following the electrode 3 applies a uniform charge. A second embodiment, Fig.4 (not shown) has an additional corona charging device. |
