1459001 Frame corner joints J KELLER 17 Jan 1974 [17 Jan 1973] 02290/74 Heading F2M [Also in Division E1] A door or window frame is made of a foamed plastics enveloping a perforated, metallic, tubular core 3, the plastics penetrating through the perforations. Frame corners are formed by wedging the limbs of L-shaped connectors 4 into hollowed out, mitre-cut ends of adjacent frame sections. The connectors may have ribs 8 which penetrate the plastics. Tapered pins or screws may be inserted into bores 6 extending transversely through the frame and connectors. The connectors may be glued into place. The frame is secured in a wall aperture by means of serrated edges 12, Fig. 3, engaging complementary serrations on the head 10 and sill 13. Metal facing strips 9 are provided. |
