<p>A plastics sealing strip between a window and a window frame is of fir tree cross section, this part being mounted in a recess in the fixed frame, with an L shaped extension lip with its flexible arm sealing against the rear of the moving window frame. A reinforcing wire passes through the fir tree portion. The wire is incorporated during an extrusion process in appts. combining a tubular wire guide and a draw plate. The wire is subjected to moisture removal by passing it through a heated and insulated tube. In an alternative design, the lip part receives a protective coating of varnish applied as a hot melt.</p> |
