Travelling wave tube delay line with coupling cavity - has partition with microwave absorber along inner periphery of coupling slot

The delay line uses a round waveguide with partitions at preset spacing. The partitions have each a central aperture for the electron beam and a coupling slot for electromagnetic connection of adjacent cavities. At least one partitions (9) of the delay line (1) is provided with a microwave absorber (8) only along the inner periphery of the coupling slot (7) and in its vicinity. Preferably the coupling slots of sequential partitions are of asymmetric arrangement with respect to the middle axis of the waveguide. Several delay line sections may be connected via non-reflecting closures.
