The demountable portable building is built up from standard components, is of an internally braced vertical hollow cylindrical form, and may be deployed as a telephone booth or ticket-vending kiosk, etc. The unit may have adjustable screw-jack feet which stand directly on existing ground surfaces, may have a pitched roof panel and may comprise curved sheets (2a) fixed to an internal frame (1). The range of standard components permits the erection of several different types of portable kiosks or flower tubs and also permits the erection of combination of the diverse forms. The frame modules (1) may be of equilateral triangular plan with an equal length leg radiating from each apex and be built up from three identical trapezoidal members (1a).
