Balanced, synthetic diet mixts., packed ready for use, contain L-aminoacids, carbohydrates, vitamins, fats, minerals, trace elements and/or taste correctors in powder form. Novelty consists in (a) using the L-aminoacids, at least partly, as cpds. which are easily decomposed in stomach, or (b) physically sepg. the L-aminoacids from the carbohydrates. Diet mixts. can supply complete nutritional requirements for patients suffering from malabsorption, malresorption, Morbus Crohn, mucovicidosis, polytrauma, burns and gastro-intestinal surgery. Quantities >1500 kcal. can be given by mouth for longer periods. Taste of compsn. is improved, and penetrating taste is eliminated, by preventing contact of L-aminoacids and carbohydrates during prepn., storage and up to moment of consumption. The mixts. pref. contain the L-aminoacids as dipeptides or acetylates. Physical sepn. can be achieved by packing in separate layers, packs or compartments. In an example, the food compsn. contained 8.5 g. of 1:1 mixt. of dipeptides and L-aminoacids, mixed with 80 g. maltodextrin. |
