<p>The machine, which requires no energy to keep it rotating, consists of a pair of wheels (13) between which are mounted at equal intervals swinging arms (1-5). Each arm carries a heavy weight (P) at its end and at its fulcrum on the wheel has a smaller arm extending at right angles. As the wheel rotates each arm in turn is directed by the slide (J) until it is in the horizontal position. A catch (K) releases the arm which swings down to the vertical. As it does so, the right angled extension engages the link (H), which is connected via a ratchet to the wheel, and pushes the wheel, round allowing the next arm to be positioned and released.</p> |
