The strap fixes the catch of a vehicle safety belt to the floor and has an extension leg for between-seats fixing. It is made from a metal strip, the head being the width (1) of the strip and the extension leg having its end half the width (11) of the strip. A folded section permits length adjustment and absorbs shocks. The straps are stamped from the strip, being laid out head to tail with the end of one extension leg under the head of its pairing strap. Blending radii (R) are provided and the floor fixing hole is drawn from a pierced slot (C).
