<p>Phosphoramidates have the formula (I):- (where R' and R2 are independently H, Cl, Br or 1-8C alkyl substd. by Cl or Br; R3 is H, 1-8C alkyl opt. substd. by OH, Cl or Br; R4 is as R3 or a gp. of formula (II) where R is 2-8C alkylene, phenylene, biphenylene or dicyclohexene; provided that >=1 of R'R2 contain a Br atom and >=1 of R3 and R4 contain a replaceable hydrogen). Also combustible matls. are rendered flame retardant by treating them with a soln. contg. the above cpds. Used as fire retardants, partic. for cellulose matls. such as cotton, rayon, jute, paper, wood etc.</p> |
