The cover plate, for current supply busbars or rails, protects the rail from contamination and allows it to retain its flexibility of use. The current rail has several conductors (2-5) set into channels along its length. The cover plate (7) is relatively short and can slide along its fixture to the rail. The plate has spring flaps (8) that engage a C-shaped mounting profile (6) in the centre of the rail. The plate's inner surface rests across the open ends of the channels.
