The mechanism is used on leaves of sliding doors or windows to achieve a positive closing movement of the leaf even in case of its possible jamming due to warping. The leg of the leaf frame rests on a carriage fitted with a roller. In the closed position of the leaf the horizontal leg rests on the rollers and these in turn rest on the frame. The corner of the carriage and the corner of the leaf frame are linked by a toggle lever pivoting around the fulcrum. The third linking joint is connected by push rod to the operating lever. To open the window by sliding, the leaf is first lifted off the carriage by downward movement of fulcrum. At the same time the tip of the stop lug is swung downwards.
