During the production of the piezoelectric transducer a disc-shaped, ferroelectric element is connected to a support diaphragm or plate, in order to form a laminated plate unit. First the connection between the support and the ferroelectric element is carried out, after which the element is subjected to polarisation. The surfaces of the laminated plate, parallel to the main plane of the ferroelectric element are exposed to a pressure of a clamp with flet clamping surfaces during the effective period of the polarising direct field. Preferably the polarisation and the measuring of the transducer electroacoustic characteristics are carried out in a closed control procedure.
