The stepped boarding point, sited within the wagon outline, for railway and other passenger coaches, comprises a fixed bottom step and movable step for adjustment to different platform levels. This step is led in sloping rails and can be moved by a hoist cylinder up to floor level, while retaining its horizontal setting. The rails (6) for his movement are aligned on a downward slope to the longitudinal centre of the coach. The step is carried on the side facing this centre, by arms (3) corresponding to the rails, the arms being fitted with support rollers (8) and running rollers (9) for guidance in the rails. Individual support rollers fit against the flanges (6a) mounted parallel to the direction of travel, and running rollers on the stem (6b) of the guide rail, which is U-shaped.
