In apparatus for moulding hollow bodies from pulverulent material which is compressed by a cam actuated hollow upper plunger 1, within a die 2, carried by a rotary table 11, against a lower cam operated ejecting plunger 3 which is secured on a cam follower 6, binding and excessive wear between the relatively moving mould parts in minimized by mounting a core member 4 for resilient displacement, via a pin 5 and slots 8, 12 connection, against a spring 11 within the lower plunger cam follower 6. The die is filled with the core member 4 positioned just below the upper surface of die 2 and the compressive effect of the moulding powder due to plunger 1 causes downward displacement of core 4, with the compressed powder, until a moulded body has been formed. After removal of the upper plunger 1, the lower plunger 3 is raised until the moulded article is raised out of the die 2 with core 4 returned to the initial die filling position. |
