A temp sensor can be used in a sugar ow sweet probe for body temp. measurement in children. The temp sensitive element of the sensor melts at a specific temp and becomes totally inoperative. The sweet eg. lollipop (10) has a hollow inner space (12b) extending to the outside surface of the sweet to receive a long flexible elastic shaft (11). The inserted shaft end (11a) has at least one opening sealed by the sweet. A temp. sensor element is placed in the shaft opening and may be observed through a transparent part of the sweet. The sensor element is of a contrasting colour to that of the sweet. If a specific temp. is attained the element melts and may be seen to have flowed out of the opening.
