Table top cigarette lighter with piezoelectric igniter - has pivoted non-tilting and non-jamming actuating key with rotating arms

The table top cigarette lighter has gas tank which also encloses the piezoelectric igniter. The latter is operated by an impact mechanism which also actuates the burner valve. The igniter unit, igniting electrodes and burner are arranged side by side in a common vertical plane. The actuating key is prevented from tilting and jamming even if the actuating force is applied at the edge of the actuating key. The actuating key (9) has on its underside parallel arms (24) which enclose the gas burner (12). The ends of arms have pivot pins (27) connected to pivot seats of the gas tank (1). The rotating movement of key ensures that the piezoelectric igniter unit is not used as a guide. The key and arms can be made sufficiently robust against twisting.
