A contoured filter screen is fitted to the offside corner of the windscreen on folding hinges. When driving at night the screen can be swung down to protect the driver from the glare of oncoming headlights. The colouring of the screen increases towards the top so that the maximum damping is obtained from glare. The remainder of the windscreen remains clear for maximum night vision. The device can be adjusted to suit different shapes of windscreen and design of vehicle.
