1403410 Coated fabrics BAYER AG 7 Dec 1972 [9 Dec 1971 29 April 1972] 56490/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] A fabric, which has been formed of pieces joined together by wetting the ends thereof with a highly volatile solvent, e.g. methylene chloride, placing a polyhydantoin film between the overlapping or over the abutting wetted ends, and pressing the ends and the film together to form a join, is coated with plasticised polyvinyl chloride at 230-250‹C. In examples, p.v.c. coatings are applied to cotton fabric webs which are butt-joined with polyhydantoin film placed over one side of the abutting ends, glass filament fabric webs which are butt-joined with polyhydantoin films placed on both sides of the abutting ends, and cotton fabric webs which are lap joined with a polyhydantoin film placed between the overlapping ends. |
