<p>1481726 Liquefaction and/or separation of gases PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 16 Aug 1974 [21 Aug 1973] 36190/74 Heading F4P Apparatus for the liquefaction and/or separation of gases comprises an inlet duct 3 which conveys high-pressure feed gas from compressor 1 through counterflow exchanger 4, pre-cooling exchanger 5, 6 cooled by a cold gas refrigerator 8, and counterflow exchanger 7, so as to cool the gas to below its inversion temperature, the outlet 9 from exchanger 7 leading via throttle valve 10 to a liquefied gas container 11 which has a vapour space 11a communicating with an outlet duct 12 which passes via exchangers 7, 4 in heat exchange with duct 3 to the suction side of compressor 1; and there being means provided for the separation of gases comprising an auxiliary duct 14 which leads from outlet 9 via counterflow exchanger 15 to a mixture separating container 16, the resulting liquefied constituent 16a being then led via expansion valve 17 and exchanger 15 to liquefied gas container 11. When it is desired only to liquefy gas, valve 17 is closed, and when mixture separation is effected, valve 10 is closed. Exchanger 15 can be located in container 11.</p> |
