The composition may also contain a halogen component. Many carrier materials are specified, alumina being preferred. The preferred composition comprises 0.01-2 wt. % platinum metal, 0.01-5 wt. % nickel, 0.01-5 wt. % group IVA metal and 0.1-10 wt. % halogen. The Example describes the preparation of a composition of gamma -alumina, platinum, nickel and germanium. |
