Heat hardenable resin compsns - contg styrene, maleic anhydride and styrene/maleic anhydride copolymers

Homogeneous solns. contng. styrene, maleic anhydride and a copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride are claimed, the mol. ratio of styrene:maleic anhydride being 1:1-4.5:1 (pref. 1.5:1-3:1), the mol. ratio of these components in the copolymer being 1:1-2:1 and the anhydride eq. ratio of maleic anhydride to copolymer of styrene/maleic anhydride being from 1:2-10:1, (pref. 1:1-5:1). Pref. the soln. contains also as cross-linking agent a 1,2-epoxy-resin with an epoxy functionality >1 in such an amount that the ratio of anhydride equiv.: functional epoxy equiv. is 0.3-1.5.
