New inhibitor for homogeneous propellants contains (i) a halogenated (pref. chlorinated) polyester (I); (ii) an unsatd. monomer which can crosslink (I), e.g. styrene, methyl methacrylate or an allyl deriv. used as 35-45 pts. wt. monomer to 65-55 pts. wt. (I); (iii) 20-50 wt. % (compared with (I)) plasticiser which is a halogenated alkyl phosphate, a halogenated paraffin or an allylic cpd.; (iv) a polymerisation catalyst; and (v) a polymerisation accelerator. Absorption of nitroglycerine from the propellant, which can cause inactivation of the inhibitor and poor adhesion of the inhibitor coating to the propellant, is greatly reduced c.f. prior inhibitors.
