Tractor cab door stay - uses spring loaded four leg hinged frame and has sprung piston cylinder as one member

The door stay uses a four member (4, 10, 19, 16) articulating frame. A sprung piston-cylinder (19, 20) forms one of the frame members, and is orientated into alternative positions to provide stabilizing couples at door closure and fully open stations resp. The mechanism includes a cantilever arm (10) which projects internally from the hinged (2) area of the door leaf (1), and a hand-lever (16') which is pinned (15) to the cab-frame (4). The piston-cylinder extends between pin-joints (12, 18) to the end of the cantilever arm (10) and an intermediate point on the hand-lever (16') resp. The door hinge (12) and the three pinjoints (12, 15, 18) thus form the hinges of the articulating stay-frame.
