<p>An agar-agar gelling agent for bacteriological use inthe form of gellable nutrient supports for cultures comprises a complex of >=60% agar-agar and =40% galactomannan, The gel has improved transparency fora given density and lower SO4-- content than gels made from agar-agar alone (e.g. an 80:20 mixt. of agar-agar and carubin extract has the same transparency as a layer of agar-agar which is 25% thinner).</p> |
