The locking arrangement is used for clamping the actuating rope of the high level flushing tank. The clamping arrangement makes it possible to dispense optionally the usual large quantity of water or alternatively a smaller quantity of water. When the actuating rope is pulled vertically down by the handle (4) then the flushing is carried out as normally. A sideways pull of the handle guides the rope to the inner edge of the holder (3) so that the shoulder contacts the ring of the holder and the pulling distance reduced in this manner results in a smaller opening of the outlet valve and hence less water is delivered for flushing.
